R&D Circuits, a member company of Advantest America, Inc., has been a leader in the printed circuit board industry for over 50 years. The position involves performing visual inspections of electronic components and their placement, orientation, and attachment to printed circuit boards. The inspector will determine product acceptability by comparing to inspection criteria, customer requirements, and industry standards (IPC-A-610). Familiarity with optical microscopes, digital cameras, and Excel spreadsheet manipulation is essential.

  • Perform visual inspections of products including printed circuit board (PCB) fabrication.
  • Inspect electronic components and their placement, orientation, and attachment to PCB.
  • Inspect mechanical assemblies and their placement, orientation, and attachment to PCBAs.
  • Inspect cables and wiring.
  • Determine product acceptability by comparing to inspection criteria including company designed prints, special instructions, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Follow departmental procedures and work instructions provided through the Quality Management System.
  • Adhere to customer provided instructions and prints.
  • Utilize Traveler / Shop Router.
  • Comply with industry standards IPC-A-600/610 Class 2.
  • Use department tools and equipment such as optical microscope, digital camera, and digital microscope camera.
  • Report inspection findings to ensure accuracy of all Quality Records for product traceability.
  • Support production demands in an efficient and timely manner and contribute overtime when necessary.
  • Be a team player and work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain department tools and equipment to ensure they are in good condition.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions that are in written, pictured, or drawing format.
  • Strong computer skills including photo/document storage, file transfer, and Microsoft Office.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to be trained.
  • Good discernment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with PCB assembly of components is an advantage.
  • Minimum of two years previous quality inspection experience is an advantage.
