About The Position

The Quality Control Supervisor's responsibilities include but are not limited to inspection, product disposition, holding and releasing of product, identification of defective material and raw materials, assist Quality Manager with staffing and employee issues.

Requirements

  • Communication skills verbal and written required
  • 5+ years' experience in medical device manufacturing required
  • Experience in quality control required
  • Supervisory experience managing a large team with multiple priorities required
  • Must be able to interpret part drawing & blueprints and possess a high level of knowledge with dimensional tolerances including geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Ability to train and monitor employees skills and determine areas for improvements
  • Ability to prepare routine reports such as efficiency reporting for employees and determine ways to improve
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to disposition product and explain any nonconforming material issues to team members
  • Strong supervisory skills and ability to clearly communicate expectations of employees and provide feedback regularly on performance

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the management of staff, including workforce planning, recruitment, shift schedules and pay differentials, skill and performance assessments, workload distribution, training, corrective action, recognition, and daily direction on work assignments and priorities.
  • Identifies and resolves operational issues and manages addressing non-conformance matters. Recommends and implements process improvements.
  • Serves as internal liaison for team operations, including preparing reports and presentations on functions and performance.
  • Ensures that special projects are completed following established schedules and procedures. Interfaces with cross-functional teams on special projects.
  • Supervise and direct department employees to meet operational objectives accurately, timely and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate skills and performance and provide recommendations for merit increases.
  • Develop and mentor Quality Team through continual communication, training and development opportunities, performance processes; build and maintain employee morale and motivation; ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies.
  • Prioritize work schedules. Schedule overtime as needed.
  • Maintain a good working relationship and open communications with both internal and external customers.
  • Member of MRB team responsible to identify and explain defects.
  • Performs other responsibilities as required by manager.
