About The Position

Markon is looking for an experienced senior specialized quality assurance inspector and leader with extensive expertise in the construction industry to provide Owner's Representative construction management services to a DoD client. This position is a nightshift role.

Requirements

  • BS in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management with 15+ years of construction experience or 20+ years of relevant construction management technical experience.
  • Current U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) or U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Construction Quality Management for Contractors certification.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain a Public Trust clearance (HSPD-12 fingerprint background check).
  • Must be able to work nightshift hours Monday to Thursday 1600-2400 (potentially until 0200).
  • Must be able/comfortable to work autonomously without supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality assurance inspections and mentors others within the Quality Assurance program.
  • Acts as the Subject Matter Expert in their field and in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) 3-Phases of Control.
  • Proactively assists the Government in conducting site evaluations, field surveys, and site visits to determine constructability and code compliance.
  • Assists estimators and project managers in the planning and estimating of future construction projects.
  • Ensures construction contractor implements effective Quality Management processes to control and deliver quality work that complies with project design, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Researches design specifications, codes, drawings, product information, etc. to be prepared for inspections and preparatory meetings.
  • Communicates respectfully and confidently with construction contractors about the practical mechanics of construction trades.
  • Writes and prepares daily QA reports to document field observations, takes effective pictures, and uses computer/iPad technologies.
  • Prepares and presents project status briefings, develops and maintains performance matrixes, and prepares well-written technical reports.
  • Prepares written and oral reports to Government leadership and program managers.
  • Works primarily in the field, exposed to various weather conditions, and traverses unimproved terrain.
  • Works independently and as part of an Integrated Project Team to deliver for the client as the Owner’s Representative.
