About The Position

Summary: Responsible for receiving, in-process and final inspection of production parts to ensure conformance to company, customer and industry requirements. Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following; other duties may be assigned. Receives and inspects Outside Vendor (OSV) parts for compliance with required process, certification and any other required paperwork. Documents and reports on all discrepancies. Performs in-process inspections per documented requirements and reports on all discrepancies. Prepares Inspection Discrepancy Report (IDR) as required. Inputs data into the QA database as required. Documents acceptance/rejections on the appropriate router. Performs source inspections as requested by customers and completes all associated documentation. Compares completed product with parts list, drawings, blueprints, customer purchase order, customer specifications and/or sample model to ensure that the product meets customer expectations. Verifies specified dimensions of product or material. Prepares and completes Detailed Inspection Plan (DIP). Performs first article inspections and completes all associated documentation. Keep work area clean at all times (5 S’s). Other projects as assigned my Quality Supervisor or Quality Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years’ experience of dimensional tolerance inspection (Y14.5) of aerospace products.
  • High School diploma or GED; or Completed apprenticeship from and accredited trade school.
  • Must have the ability to read blueprints, interpret work instructions, strong PC skills and proficiency with Microsoft word and Excel.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Manual dexterity to handle small delicate parts and hand held standard measuring equipment at the same time.

Nice To Haves

  • ISO and /or NADCAP experience is preferred.
