The position involves inspecting products to ensure they conform to work orders and specifications. The role requires conducting dimensional checks on sample audits from inspection and setting up gauges to determine diameter and length. The inspector will also be responsible for changing the master pin in the gauge according to the dimensions of the parts being inspected. Additionally, the position includes conducting roundness testing using an electronic gauge and measuring end squareness with a manual gauge. The inspector will obtain hardness measures using a Rockwell hardness tester and measure the surface finish of rollers with a parameter electronic gauge. Non-conformance material forms must be completed to indicate any dimension deviations. The inspector may use various electronic gauges and hand gauging equipment, including comparators, to provide digital readouts of dimensional measurements. The use of a Rondcom 41C for roundness inspection is also required. After inspection, parts must be placed in barrels or jugs, which are then boxed. The inspector will also be responsible for weighing products using scales and maintaining supplies such as jugs, skids, and lids. The use of a forklift, pallet jack, and barrel carts is necessary for this role. Maintaining all paperwork related to job requirements and keeping the work area clean and organized are also essential duties.
