About The Position

We are looking for a QA Engineering Professional who has experience in manual software testing, ideally of User Interfaces. You will be joining BT's Networks 999 team within voice services platform.  The key propose of this role is to test the systems used by the end users for the handling/support of 999, OA/DA and Relay calls.What you’ll be doing

Requirements

  • Experience of telecoms software and application testing (understanding and reviewing requirements, test scope, test case writing and execution, test reports)
  • Strong problem solving skills to ascertain where problems may lie.
  • Disciplined and organised defect management skills
  • Strong team worker who is able to work and deliver under minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • A knowledge of the  call handling systems would be advantageous
  • Ability to use basic Microsoft Office applications – Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint
  • Software engineering development for test tool development.
  • Any accreditation or training in Software Testing.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and execution of tests for software releases focusing on User Interfaces
  • Defining, producing and maintaining test scripts.
  • Responsible for inputs to all the test strategies and test schedules in their area of expertise, applying tailored/established test best practices depending on the needs of the project.
  • Responsible for the execution, management and reporting of testing activities within the area of expertise.
  • Owning, recording and managing problems/defects through to a satisfactory conclusion.
  • Supporting and maintaining  the availability of test equipment, including the building/upgrading of equipment needed to carry out the role.
  • Supporting other members of the Test team as necessary to ensure team targets and objectives are met
  • Is able to work with limited supervision and is proactive in approach to finding solutions and escalating when all other channels are exhausted. 
  • Conducting peer review
  • Responsible for the constant improvement of the quality of testing being undertaken in their area of expertise and within the wider testing function.
