About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a QA Engineer in the United States. This role is focused on ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of software products in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and design teams to validate new features, prevent regressions, and strengthen testing practices. The position provides the opportunity to influence the development lifecycle by implementing robust testing strategies and automated frameworks. You will play a pivotal role in delivering a seamless user experience at scale, identifying potential issues early, and advocating for quality best practices across teams. This is a highly collaborative role requiring technical expertise, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance or software testing.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, particularly Agile/Scrum.
  • Hands-on experience with manual testing, test case design, and bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Linear, GitHub Issues).
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency using browser DevTools to debug UI and API issues, and ability to collaborate effectively with engineers.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly convey issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to prioritize testing efforts based on impact and release context.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts for web applications.
  • Conduct manual and automated testing across functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end scenarios.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers to understand requirements, acceptance criteria, and release scope.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects with clear reproduction steps and severity levels.
  • Validate fixes and ensure resolution without introducing regressions or impacting existing functionality.
  • Build and maintain automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release readiness reviews, advocating for QA best practices.
  • Continuously improve QA processes, tooling, and test coverage to increase efficiency and product reliability.
