About The Position

The QA Engineer will serve as a verifier responsible for functional testing and usability validation across Federal DoD healthcare data governance systems. This role ensures quality assurance throughout enterprise data catalog development, metadata management processes, and self-service portal implementations by conducting comprehensive testing and validation activities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, software testing, or system validation
  • 3+ years of experience with functional testing methodologies and test case development
  • Experience with both manual and automated testing approaches across web-based applications
  • Ability to translate technical knowledge into strategic recommendations
  • Knowledge of usability testing principles and user experience validation methods
  • Proficiency in test planning, execution, and defect tracking processes
  • Understanding of Federal system testing requirements and compliance validation
  • Experience with testing enterprise applications and data management systems
  • Possess Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with an ability to prioritize, balance, and effectively advance multiple competing priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interact in a professional and collaborative manner with fellow Dynanet Teammates and the clients, and business partners that we work with
  • Ability and desire to challenge and educate yourself to support and advance IT services delivery in the Federal agencies we serve
  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills
  • Respond to team member and client requests via email, MS teams, or other communication means during core business hours
  • Active listening skills to understand clients' needs, and collaboration skills to work with other developers and designers
  • BA in information technology, computer science, software engineering, or related field (MA preferred)
  • Active DoD High-Risk Public Trust designation (Active DoD security clearance preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • 7+ years of experience in quality assurance or software testing
  • 5+ years of experience with enterprise application testing and validation processes
  • Ability to engage with various stakeholders verbally and in writing
  • Experience with Federal DoD healthcare system testing and validation requirements
  • Knowledge of data catalog platform testing and metadata management system validation
  • Understanding of automated testing tools and continuous integration testing practices
  • Experience with API testing and integration validation methodologies
  • Technical certification(s) in compliance with DoD Directive 8140 (CompTIA Sec+, CISSP, CISM, CEH, etc.) is preferred
  • Testing certifications are preferred (ISTQB, CSTE, Agile Testing certifications, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Execute comprehensive functional testing of enterprise data catalog systems including metadata ingestion, search capabilities, and data discovery workflows
  • Perform usability validation testing across persona-specific interfaces ensuring data stewards, analysts, and governance users can effectively navigate and utilize system capabilities
  • Conduct testing of automated metadata harvesting processes validating extraction accuracy, completeness, and quality against established standards
  • Execute validation testing of governance workflows including metadata creation, review, approval, and publication processes
  • Perform quality assurance testing of interim centralized repositories ensuring secure storage, access controls, and workflow functionality
  • Test federated catalog integration capabilities including metadata exchange, synchronization processes, and external system connectivity
  • Validate Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool integration ensuring generated documentation meets quality standards and compliance requirements
  • Execute regression testing ensuring system updates and enhancements maintain existing functionality and performance
  • Conduct cross-browser and cross-platform testing for self-service portal capabilities and user interface functionality
  • Document test results, defect tracking, and validation findings with clear recommendations for issue resolution
