Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled QA Engineer to play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our cloud-native invoice and payment automation platform. You will balance manual testing expertise with test automation development, creating robust automated test suites while also performing critical exploratory, performance, and manual testing. This position requires both technical expertise in modern automation frameworks and a deep understanding of quality assurance principles for cloud-based, distributed systems. You will work closely with development teams to integrate quality throughout the software development lifecycle, work with DevOps to integrate test automation into our CI/CD pipelines, and help establish testing best practices for applications built on AWS infrastructure. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. However, opportunities to mentor and coach team members are encouraged and valued.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with test automation frameworks
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, C#, or Java)
  • Demonstrated expertise testing cloud-native applications
  • Experience with API testing tools and frameworks (Postman or similar)
  • Understanding of testing microservices, serverless functions, and distributed systems
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence testing approaches including validation of LLM outputs, computer vision models, OCR accuracy, and classification models
  • Solid understanding of SQL for database testing, query validation, and data integrity verification
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and integrating automated tests into pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
  • Hands-on experience with TestRail or similar test management systems
  • Understanding of performance testing concepts and tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Experience with version control systems (Git/GitHub)
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code testing approaches
  • Ability to balance manual testing with automation development effectively
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in software quality assurance with significant focus on both automation and manual testing
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks
  • Experience testing SaaS applications and cloud-based systems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience testing applications in the FinTech industry or financial services sector
  • Experience with both Robot Framework and Selenium
  • Knowledge of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or SpecFlow
  • Experience testing .NET and React applications
  • AWS certification (Cloud Practitioner or higher)
  • Experience in regulated environments (PCI-DSS, SOC2, HIPAA)
  • Certification in test automation or quality assurance (ISTQB or similar)
  • Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, BlazeMeter)
  • Familiarity with containerized application testing (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience mentoring or coaching other QA team members

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Robot Framework, Selenium, or other modern testing tools for web-based SaaS applications
  • Create comprehensive test strategies for cloud-native applications deployed on AWS, including testing of Lambda functions, microservices, APIs, and serverless architectures
  • Perform manual exploratory testing to identify edge cases, usability issues, and potential system vulnerabilities
  • Design, execute, and maintain automated regression, functional, integration, and end-to-end tests
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to enable continuous testing
  • Manage test cases, test plans, and test execution results in TestRail
  • Develop API testing frameworks and scripts to validate RESTful services and event-driven architectures
  • Test artificial intelligence features including generative AI integrations, OCR capabilities, computer vision models, and classification models
  • Validate query performance, and data accuracy in PostgreSQL and SQL Server environments
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure application testability and implement testing best practices from the beginning of each project
  • Create and maintain test data management strategies for complex financial and payment processing scenarios
  • Monitor and analyze test results, identifying patterns and trends to improve overall quality
  • Debug test failures and maintain test stability across multiple environments (dev, staging, production)
  • Participate in test planning, requirements reviews, and defect triage meetings
  • Document testing procedures, frameworks, test cases, and best practices
  • Conduct performance and load testing to ensure system scalability and reliability
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging practices in test automation and quality assurance
  • Mentor team members on testing techniques, automation best practices, and quality mindset
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives
