Varex Imaging is looking for a motivated, proactive engineer to help support existing products in the Supplier Quality Engineering group. Our group helps reduce scrap and increase product quality on a variety of products ranging from Mammography to CT applications. There are always interesting and challenging opportunities in production that require us to work together as a team and leverage each other’s experience. We are a tight knit group that like to work hard and have fun as we help make our products better. We are looking for a Suppler Quality Engineer that: · Ensures that suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services · Qualify suppliers according to company standards and may administer a Certified Supplier Program in receiving inspection to ensure cost effectiveness, including auditing to ISO 9001 or better · Monitors parts from acquisition through the manufacturing cycle and communicates and resolves supplier-related problems as they occur · Develops and prioritizes an auditing schedule to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis to ensure good manufacturing practices (GMP) and quality standards are met · Evaluates suppliers’ internal functions to assess their overall performance and provides feedback in assessment of their operation · Supports existing product lines and disposition daily scrap and rework · Implement design and process improvements to existing product lines to help improve product quality, performance, and customer satisfaction · Interfaces effectively with Production, Quality, Design Engineering, and Supply Chain Management to manage complex problems across several different departments · Generates requirements, specifications, defining test methods/criteria/protocols and validation · Travel 10% to complete supplier audits · B.S. degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, or Applied physics · 2+ years of experience designing new products and demonstrated success in driving products to market · 2+ years of experience developing new manufacturing processes, streamlining and optimizing existing processes, transitioning R&D products into a production environment, or in a manufacturing support role. · Familiarity with various manufacturing processes such as machining, brazing/welding, mechanical assembly, vacuum technology, and high voltage equipment. · Six Sigma Green or Black Belt preferred
