The QA Coordinator is responsible for ensuring food safety by adhering to the Food Safety Plan's policies and procedures. This role involves overseeing the performance of Rice Graders to ensure compliance with FGIS standards, filling in for the Quality Assurance Manager when necessary, and maintaining knowledge of customer specifications and regulations. The QA Coordinator will keep accurate quality and inventory records, monitor production and shipment grade results, and communicate with various managers regarding the quality of rice. The position requires daily grading of samples to FGIS standards and managing blending for shipments based on mill production data.

  • Responsible for food safety by following the Food Safety Plan's policies and procedures.
  • Oversees that the performance of Rice Graders is in line with FGIS standards.
  • Fill in for the Quality Assurance Manager when absent.
  • Be knowledgeable of customer specifications and regulations.
  • Keeps accurate quality and inventory records, including the Positive Release Log.
  • Keeps shipment file samples and Certificate of Analysis.
  • Monitor production and shipment grade results.
  • Attend Training per the Food Safety Plan.
  • Communicate with the Production Manager, Mill Manager, and Shipping Manager on the quality of the rice.
  • Grade samples to FGIS standards on all shipments.
  • Fill out COAs promptly and correctly.
  • Using the data from the mill production sheets to manage the blending for shipments.
  • Analyze production samples and make up file samples for all mill/plant production.
  • Know the methods to correctly perform all tests.
  • Collect samples from various areas in the plant.
  • Collect and process all sales requested samples for customers.
  • Know the process for the different samples that go to other labs for testing.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 1-3 years' experience in a related field preferred, but not required.
