QA Automation Intern
About The Position
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented QA Automation Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship provides hands-on experience in software testing, automation, and Agile development practices. You will work closely with experienced QA engineers and developers to support quality initiatives across web, API, and/or mobile applications. This role is ideal for students interested in software engineering, quality assurance, or DevOps who want real-world experience building and maintaining automated tests. Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java, C#).
- Understanding of software development fundamentals and object-oriented programming concepts.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to automated testing tools or frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Postman, etc.).
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and how they work.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Coursework or projects involving software testing or DevOps concepts.
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and developing automated test scripts for web and/or API applications.
- Support enhancement of existing automation frameworks using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Postman, or similar technologies.
- Help integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins) under guidance.
- Participate in test planning sessions and review feature requirements to understand testing needs.
- Execute manual and automated test cases and document results.
- Identify and log defects using tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Analyze test results and collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues.
- Contribute to maintaining test documentation, including test cases and test plans.
- Support continuous improvement efforts in test automation and QA processes.
