About The Position

The QA Automation Engineer designs automated tests by creating scripts that run testing functions automatically. This includes determining the priority for test scenarios and creating execution plans to implement these scenarios. The QA Automation Engineer also designs documentation for automated processes. This position performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.

Requirements

Proven work experience in software development and software quality assurance
Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
Experience in designing and developing test cases, test plans, and test scripts to ensure the quality of software applications.
Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing lifecycle (STLC).
Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
Strong knowledge in scripting and programming languages like Python, Java, and JavaScript to write and execute automated tests.
Highly skilled in using automation frameworks like Selenium, TestNG, Junit, and tools like Jenkins for continuous integration.
Ability to work under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality work.
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple design streams across concurrent work effort.
Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
Experience in roles such as Software Tester, QA Analyst, or other IT-related roles
Experience integrating QA processes within the software development workflow
Advanced understanding of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes
Certified Software Tester (CST) or Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA) a plus

Responsibilities

Create, execute, and maintain automated testing scripts to ensure software runs smoothly and meets client needs
Identify, analyze and create detailed records of problems that appear during testing, such as defects, bugs, errors, and inconsistencies
Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
Review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics
Collaborate with the software development team to ensure the software meets quality standards
Prepare reports on all aspects related to the software testing carried out and reporting to the design team
Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, and potential problems
Ensure that any new software integration into the company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications
Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
Collaborate with the team to improve the company’s quality assurance processes and practices
Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
