About The Position

The position involves performing manual feature and bug fix testing for Crexendo's web and mobile applications. The candidate will utilize TestRail to manage test cases, report bugs, and track them through the development lifecycle. Additionally, the role includes validating VoIP firmware products and coordinating with vendors to create firmware fixes. The candidate will collaborate with software developers to design new features and develop smart approaches to fixing bugs. Maintaining the repository of test cases, test sets, and defect tickets is also a key responsibility. The candidate will be expected to review test cases for accuracy and clarity, as well as test sets for consistency. A willingness to learn new technologies and apply that knowledge quickly is essential, along with writing automation test cases.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years in a tech position - ideally help desk, technical customer service, Jr system administrator, or recent graduate with Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a related field
  • Comfort using Windows, macOS, or Linux in a testing context
  • Basic understanding of technology, including how web browsers render and interact with web applications
  • Basic principles of how the internet and networking function (e.g., DNS, HTTP, client-server model)
  • Familiarity with common software architecture components (e.g., front-end vs back-end, APIs, databases)
  • Awareness of how applications are deployed and accessed in cloud or web environments
  • Comfort using browser developer tools

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual feature and bug fix testing for Crexendo's web and mobile application using TestRail, fail test cases where appropriate, write bugs, and track bugs to completion through the development lifecycle
  • Validate VoIP firmware products and coordinate with vendors to create firmware fixes
  • Work with software developers to design new features and smart approaches to fixing bugs
  • Maintain the repository of test cases, test sets, and defect tickets
