About The Position

As a QA Analyst, you will join the Platform & Technology team, and serve as the quality lead for the products developed within your scrum team. The QA Analyst is responsible for the overall quality of the software or product. You will influence the product multiple times throughout its development lifecycle; working closely with Product (Platform) Owners to understand the goals and value of the product, with Engineering to diagnose and document defects, and with Operations to coordinate hotfixes, bugs, and feature releases.

Requirements

2+ years of experience with manual software QA testing
Experience performing smoke, functional, regression, browser compatibility, and end-to-end testing
Critical attention to detail with excellent procedural and documentation skills
Expertise in identifying key issues, missed requirements, and experience enhancements
Effective communication skills across multiple teams, business units, and users
Keen understanding of business and user needs

Nice To Haves

Experiencing automating test plans and processes, a plus
Desire to expand skills into an automated environment to improve efficiency and scalability

Responsibilities

Familiarize yourself with the intention and goals of a new product by actively participating and contributing to product kickoff sessions
Groom backlog tickets; confirm that all acceptance criteria have been defined prior to development, and provide estimated effort to test the feature
Proactively create test cases to expedite testing of development work
Perform manual tests to validate that a product or feature complies with the documented requirements and acceptance criteria
Proof-read text to ensure there are no spelling or grammatical errors
Create bug and defect tickets; including steps to recreate the issue, screen shots, and call attention to missed requirements
Coordinate with Engineering and Ops to indicate when a feature is ready for release
Become the SME for the products that you are responsible for. Speak effectively about their features, functionality, usage, interactions with other products, and the value it brings to the business
Able to write basic SQL queries to verify data is populating our databases as expected
Review bugs submitted to Ops Help Desk to ensure the issue can be replicated and the steps to replicate the issue are detailed
Identify repetitive testing actions, design test plans to automate the action, and potentially implement automation scripts (based on skillset) to reduce QA effort and increase scalability.
