About The Position

The qPCR Analyst I position at Green Analytics is an entry-level analytical role focused on laboratory support functions related to cannabis testing. The analyst will be responsible for instrument tuning, equipment maintenance, and quality control data analysis, ensuring efficient lab operations and accurate testing results. The role requires a commitment to customer service and the ability to work with cannabis-related products in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • 1 year of laboratory experience required.
  • Ability to fluently speak and read English and follow written and verbal directions.
  • Analytical and numerical skills for performing mathematical calculations in different units of measurement.
  • Basic knowledge of modern office practices and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
  • Experience in driving tasks and meeting deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years in a service-based/customer-facing position.
  • 2+ years of non-academic experience in a real-world analytical laboratory.
  • Relevant industry-related experience in Medical Cannabis.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Lab Director to ensure lab efficiencies for prioritization, workflow, and sample preparation.
  • Prepare samples, load and run instruments, and perform calibration and standard preparation.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and collaborate with Department Head to implement new methods and processes.
  • Prepare calibrations and verify quality controls for laboratory instruments and methods.
  • Acquire and analyze data for analytical laboratory testing of cannabis products, demonstrating competence in at least one analytical method.
  • Assist with the validation of test methods and Research and Development (R&D) activities.
  • Document and track Continuing Calibration Verification (CCV) Standards for Quality Assurance.
  • Prepare reports related to cannabinoid potency, terpene potency, residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, microbiological organisms, water activity, and mycotoxins.
  • Import data into LIMS and Seed-to-Sale systems; submit data reports and Certificates of Analysis for supervisory approval.
  • Oversee inventory of crucial departmental supplies.
