About The Position

The position is responsible for assisting the day-to-day operation of the Quality Assurance Lab at the Jacksonville plant, which is accomplished by conducting analysis of batch samples, raw materials, as well as auditing production to ensure quality products are being made. QA tech will assist QA lead/supervisor by monitoring to present quality programs including weight control program, microbiological analysis, chemical analysis, physical analysis, internal food safety auditing, ISO 9000 and 22000 programs, allergen and HACCP program as they pertain to customer product specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in annual Employee GMP training, including new hire orientation.
  • Assists QA Coordinator in the organization of Hold Tracking (Raw Material and Finished Goods) and acts as a liaison with Rework, Warehouse, and Production Personnel.
  • Assures maintenance and calibration of all Laboratory equipment.
  • Attends Safety Meetings and Problem-Solving Meetings, when required.
  • Adherence to all PPI Laboratory Procedures.
  • Performs all Lab functions, including analytical methods, micro-testiing, and organization of all Processing/Lab documentation.
  • Meets Department quality and processing standards.
  • Conducts weekly chemical inventory.
  • Assures compliance to HACCP Program.
  • Operates equipment in a safe manner following GMP guidelines and keeps work area clean.
  • Participates in meetings.
  • Trains others.
  • Fills in for other positions as necessary.
  • Additional responsibilities of this position include assisting in the creation of a culture of safety and health by performing work safely in accordance with all company safety procedures.
  • Operates equipment safely and reports any unsafe work conditions or practice to lead/supervisor.

  • Quality Technicians perform inspections, tests, and measurements on our products to ensure that they meet quality requirements and specifications.
  • Quality Technicians support production with identifying and addressing quality issues.
  • Coordinate all activities including training for the Quality Assurance Technicians and Microbiological Technicians.
  • Organize and interpret results of microbiological testing of finished product and coordinate their release for shipment.
  • Ensure that all products meet customer requirements and monitor sanitation producers.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, equipment, and procedures for the testing and evaluation of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Educate employees in regards to Quality programs.
  • Ensure that employees comprehend and follow quality programs.
  • Meet the requirements of the KHMS Standards as necessary
