This role offers the opportunity to design and build high-performance, secure backend systems supporting critical applications. You will work on developing RESTful APIs, containerized microservices, and data pipelines while integrating AI/ML workflows and external services. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 7+ years of professional Python development experience
  • Experience with RESTful API development and microservices architecture
  • Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and writing efficient queries
  • Strong understanding of secure coding practices and authentication systems
  • Experience with Docker, cloud environments (AWS), and CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with AI/ML model integration and training workflows
  • Knowledge of government security standards (NIST, ISO 27001, OWASP, Zero Trust)
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to support projects in a government or DoD environment, requiring U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain clearance

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain secure RESTful APIs using Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Django)
  • Build containerized microservices and deploy applications in AWS or other cloud environments
  • Integrate external APIs, including government and enterprise services, with robust error handling
  • Develop data processing and ETL pipelines, including SQL/NoSQL databases, and apply NLP techniques to documents
  • Implement AI/ML workflows and support model training and deployment
  • Ensure secure coding practices, authentication (OAuth 2.0/JWT), and compliance with security frameworks
  • Write clean, maintainable code with comprehensive unit and integration testing
  • Contribute to agile development processes, including sprints, Git workflows, and collaborative code reviews
