About the position

The Python Developer role at Matlen Silver is a contract position focused on developing and delivering complex software solutions to meet business goals. The developer will ensure that software meets functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements while coding solutions, performing unit tests, and integrating them into the overall application/system. The position requires collaboration with team members to refine requirements, estimate work, and resolve technical complexities throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to story refinement and defining requirements.
• Participate and guide the team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle.
• Perform spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas.
• Code solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
• Utilize multiple architectural components in design and development of client requirements.
• Assist team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work.
• Contribute to existing test suites, analyze test reports, identify any test issues/errors, and triage the underlying cause.
• Document and communicate required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality.
• Participate, contribute, and coach team members in the delivery/release events.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python programming language.
• Experience with software development and testing practices.
• Ability to contribute to story refinement and requirement definition.
• Experience in estimating work for software delivery.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with integration, regression, and performance testing.
• Knowledge of architectural components across data, application, and business domains.
