About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer - Mid in our Chantilly, VA office in support of our Intelligence Community customer as part of a highly talented, highly motivated and high-performing team. As part of the systems engineering team, you will be supporting the Enterprise Xcelerator Lab, a research & development laboratory catered to mission integration and user engagement. You will be working with other agencies and industry partners that involves design, development, integration, test, and deployment of exciting and complex systems in an Agile construct to contribute to mission success for a variety of stakeholders. Design, develop, document, test and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determine computer user needs; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepare operating instructions. Ensure software standards are met. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design. Coordinate software system installations and monitor system functioning to ensure specifications are met.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, Masters degree with 3+ years of relevant experience. Additional four (4) years of direct comparable experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree will be considered.
This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with poly. The candidate must maintain the clearance.
Experience developing secure and well-tested API using Python/Java
Experience developing frontends using JavaScript frameworks
Experience maintaining, monitoring, and debugging software deployed in the cloud, preferably AWS
Experience developing performant relational database designs
Experience working with Git and with web-based repositories such at Bitbucket or GitLab

Nice To Haves

Experience working with Restful API's
Experience working with AWS services: EC2, ECS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, or Amazon Workspaces
Experience developing in a nix environment and familiarity with basic and advanced terminal commands Experience containerizing software with Docker
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines
Experience working in an Agile development process
Experience managing Elasticsearch, reindexing and data mappings, JSON and KQL searching syntax, and Kibana dashboard options
