About The Position
The Boeing Company is seeking a Lead Software Engineer Developer to join the Phantom Works Space team in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This role is pivotal in supporting the Integrated Operations Support System (IOSS) project, which encompasses various programs, including Battle Management Command and Control (BMC2) and advanced modeling and simulation capabilities for Satellite Digital Twins and Space Battle Management Command, Control, and Communications (BMC3) programs. The selected candidate will lead a small team responsible for the development and documentation of software requirements, ensuring alignment with deliverables. This position requires the creation and establishment of software verification plans, test procedures, and test environments, followed by the execution of these procedures to document results that align with system requirements. As a subject matter expert, the engineer will address software domains, system-specific issues, processes, and regulations, while also tracking and evaluating the performance of the software team and suppliers to ensure compliance with project plans and industry standards. In this role, the engineer will develop and maintain software applications using Python for backend/API development, Angular for frontend interfaces, and PostgreSQL for database management. The position also involves automating deployment processes with Ansible playbooks and managing containerized applications using Podman and Podman Compose. The engineer will set up and manage CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to facilitate smooth integration, testing, and deployment of software. Additionally, the role includes implementing and maintaining application security protocols, configuring Nginx as a reverse proxy and load balancer, and troubleshooting issues across development, testing, and production environments to ensure high availability and performance. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions is essential, as is maintaining comprehensive documentation for all code, configurations, processes, and dependencies. Staying current with the latest trends and technologies in software development, DevOps, and security is also a key expectation of this position.
