California Faucets is looking to bring on a talented PVD - 2nd Shift Production Lead. This role is based on site in our Huntington Beach, CA facility. The hours for this position will be Monday through Friday, full-time from 2:15 p.m.-11:00 p.m. The PVD Production Lead plays a critical role within the company and directly impacts day-to-day production. He/she is expected to oversee and provide guidance on the various tasks occurring in the department such as machine set-ups, equipment operation, and verifying the quality of the finished components to meet company standards. Additionally, this role leads 5-15 employees in the PVD operation. He/she is responsible for successfully setting the example, teaching, guiding, and assisting coworkers in performing production operations, as well as ensuring their compliance with all rules and regulations. Responsibilities include relaying direction from the supervisor to other team members, training, assigning and directing work, providing input/assistance to the supervisor regarding employee performance appraisal, resolving problems, and continuously improving processes and procedures. Additional duties of this position include the following: Overseeing the day-to-day functions of the work area by providing guidance and direction and organizing the workflow throughout the production line. Making necessary decisions to maintain efficient workflow and productivity to keep up with timeline demands, redirecting the workflow to produce the best output, and making adjustments to avoid delays. Keeping a daily production report that accurately reflects all activity and the current status of orders, as well as the daily production metrics for the team. Retrieving order information out of the ERP system. Coordinating proper loading and unloading of customer's products into the PVD machines, including machine procedures. Overseeing quality control of uncoated and coated parts and deposition processes. Overseeing coating processes for a variety of finishes, to include racking parts appropriately by finish, verifying the correct finish is programmed in the PVD machine, and ensuring the parts get properly coated. Ensuring that all components are coated efficiently in various finishes and are consistent with quality standards and achieving on-time performance. Developing and maintaining positive employee relations, promoting cooperation, and ensuring open lines of communication with employees. Guiding and directing employees through proper channels to resolve conflict. Coordinating, monitoring, and documenting new employees' training and evaluating workers' ongoing training needs. Providing training assistance to employees, such as teaching fixturing techniques and orientation requirements for proper PVD processing to the Machine Operators. Communicating with supervisor on all problems/concerns regarding workers, equipment, and delays. Raising any machining or quality issues to appropriate supervision or engineering. Monitoring supplies and consumables to ensure they meet inventory demands regularly. Monitoring and ensuring availability of appropriate supplies of process gases. Maintaining safe working conditions and the cleanliness of work areas for a professional image. Performing additional assignments per management direction.
