Requirements

  • The ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check is required
  • Experience operating a forklift or willingness to be trained
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use a tape measure accurately
  • Mechanical aptitude with basic technical skills for operating and maintaining equipment
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn computer and scanner operations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
  • Must be able to walk, stand, use hands to handle tools, reach with arms, kneel, stoop, crouch, and talk and hear in noisy environments
  • Must be able to regularly lift and move objects weighing up to 51 lbs independently and occasionally lift and move objects up to 100lbs with the assistance of team lifts.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 - 2+ years in a steel fabrication and manufacturing environment is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Safely load and unload metal coils from trucks using a forklift
  • Position and load coils onto an uncoiler to roll form purlin parts according to specified sizes and schedules
  • Use a cut-off wheel to trim parts and operate a mag drill to punch holes as needed
  • Read and interpret blueprints and tape measurements to ensure precise production
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficiency and safety
  • Utilize computers and RFsmart scanners for inventory tracking and production processes
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures
  • Follow all safety protocols including wearing PPE and required PPE at all times. Required PPE is defined as gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe boots Additional PPE, such as hard hats, flame-resistant clothing, hearing protection, face shields, respirators, etc, may be required depending on the specific tasks being performed or the work area.
