About The Position

This position is the technical expert in purchasing and accounts payable functions for the Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion Bureau. This position is responsible for purchasing supplies, goods, and services by interpreting and implementing state purchasing rules, regulation, policy, and procedure, as well as ensuring the quality, efficiency, and compliance of accounting procedures and budgets. The position analyzes, researches, reconciles, evaluates, and reviews and enters payment for all vendor-related invoices. These duties are accomplished by using software systems such as PERQS, AWACS, SABHRS, Amazon, eMACS, and excel worksheets. Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles, practices, and state regulations used in the Montana Procurement System and public purchasing concepts and practices.
  • Ability to make professional judgements through research and data analysis using analytical and quantitative techniques and the procurement process.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Two years of job-related college or vocational training.
  • Two years of job-related experience.
  • Equivalent combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
