About The Position
The Purchasing Supervisor will provide leadership in the communication, implementation, coordination, and enforcement of overall GSM and Commodity strategies. This role involves developing, executing, and reporting the budget for NA Friction supplier spend, as well as managing talent development through mentorship and leadership of the NA Friction GSM team. The supervisor will lead the GSM team in executing best practices and measuring performance through agreed upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Additionally, the position directs and coordinates GSM functions through strategy, resource optimization, profitability maximization, and KPIs, resulting in the maximization of customer satisfaction. The supervisor will also plan, manage, and coordinate all activities related to direct and indirect sourcing and procurement of necessary materials and supplies needed to meet the changing levels of product demand at all stages of the Program/Project (Launch, Production, Service, etc.). Furthermore, the role includes developing policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety, and implementing subsequent changes to processes. The Purchasing Supervisor will participate cross-functionally with the product development, marketing, and sales teams, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials. Aligning NA Friction GSM strategies with Regional GSM and Global Commodity teams is also a key responsibility. The supervisor will monitor the performance of suppliers, assess their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements, and identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with the manager and other departments. Lastly, the role supports proper utilization of various ERP and GSM systems like SAP and iVALUA.
