About The Position

The Purchasing Specialist reports to the Purchasing Manager and is required to perform routine to moderately complex duties in procuring a variety of equipment, materials and supplies and services. The Purchasing Specialist is expected to provide customer-responsive, cost-effective and high-quality purchasing services for our inner staff and also have good knowledge, responsive, and customer service. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Purchasing Manager as well as the service, operation, and accounting departments. The salary range for this role is between $28.00-$36.00/hour, commensurate on relevant education, experience, and other job related factors. Duties and Responsibilities: Analyze inventory and recommend purchases. Generate and submit purchase orders. Manage customer orders and portals. Track and maintain delivery dates. Maintain spreadsheets in Excel. Work with warehouse personnel in resolving product/inventory issues. Validate and process invoices for payment. Maintain strong working relationship with our vendors and customers. Develop an active process for measuring supply inventory and determining purchasing needs. Stay up to date with industry trends. Perform additional duties and projects as required by the business. Knowledge of warehouse procedures Knowledge of clerical practices and procedures Computer skills and knowledge of office software packages (ie MS Word, Excel, Outlook and accounting software) Other Duties: This job description does not list all the duties of the job. Requirements

  • Knowledge of purchasing, general ledger accounts and accounting cost centers
  • Knowledge of purchase order functions and procedures
  • Knowledge of Accounts Payable procedures and functionality
  • Accounting internal control processes/separation of duties
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in entering financial data.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial and employee information.
  • Ability to communicate with our customers in a professional manner.
  • Responsible, self-motivated, detail oriented, personable, and well-organized.

  • Minimum of 2yrs experience in Purchasing field (Accounting Experience preferred)
  • Minimum of 1yr experience in Customer Service (preferred)
  • Knowledge of clerical practices and procedures
  • Computer skills and knowledge of office software packages (ie MS Word, Excel, Outlook and accounting software)
  • Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills
  • Requires prolonged sitting, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching.
  • Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination for data input.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds, unassisted.
  • Must maintain a clear background check to satisfy customer jobsite badging requirements.
  • Must be willing to submit to all vaccinations and screening tests required for customer jobsite badging protocol.
  • Consistent, reliable, and timely attendance.
  • Maintain a clear drug and alcohol screening protocol.
  • Maintain a valid drivers' license and acceptable driving record for insurance requirements.

  • Accounting Experience preferred
