Purchasing Specialist - West Point, VA - JD The Opportunity This position is responsible for procurement parts, labor & equipment to support the mill. The individual will work closely with internal customers (mill personnel) & with the suppliers of products/services that support the West Point Mill to secure products and/or services to cover the day-to-day requirements of procuring products and/or services. This position submits Requests for Quotes, reviews & evaluates bids, schedules meetings with prospective bidders & negotiations, processes and monitors Purchase Orders. Orders are awarded based on either Corporate Procurement Contracts/Agreements or Mill Purchasing Agreements. Work within Mill and Corporate directives and follow guidelines in the management services above. Performs functions needed for dispute resolution / problem solving. The individual will pre-qualify "new" companies with Smurfit WestRock's requirements for supplying products, equipment and/or services at the West Point Mill.
