About The Position

The Air Rover Purchasing & Shipping Agent supports company activities by ordering products, services, and raw materials for the manufacture of ECU’s and facility use. This position is assigned to Air Rover, a member of the Western Protective Solutions family located in Tyler, Texas and will report to the Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to apply analytical skills, with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analyses
  • Extremely organized
  • Conducts work in a professional and analytical manner
  • Must demonstrate initiative; be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at times
  • Engaging in repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers – typing and/or writing
  • Working frequently at close visual range (i.e., preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcription, computer terminal, extensive reading)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing, Business Management or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and purchasing experience
  • Experience with Planning, and/or Inventory control
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing principals, policies and processes
  • High software competency – Integrated ERP/MRP and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of commercial shipping methods and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in HVAC industry preferred
  • Hands-on experience with purchasing software

Responsibilities

  • Researching potential vendors
  • Comparing and evaluating offers from suppliers
  • Negotiating contract terms of agreement and pricing
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery
  • Review quality of purchased products
  • Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases
  • Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices
  • Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage
  • Assists with inventory management
  • Conducts physical inventory each quarter
  • Schedule all inbound and outbound deliveries with freight carriers.
  • Work with carriers to provide best shipping rates and shipping practices.
  • Maintain updated records of outbound items, delivery information and invoices
  • Other duties as assigned
