Responsibilities

  • Storeroom Operations: Set up accounts, provide instruction to new users on storeroom procedures; assist customers with finding items in storeroom; return items for credit.
  • Shipping and Receiving: Receive all deliveries to the assigned Department; Match all packing slips to the correct purchase order (PO) and make sure the deliveries go to the correct requestor; Prepare all outgoing shipments for the Department.
  • Creating or Approving assigned Department Purchase Orders: Process and approve POs; Check pricing on POs; Check accuracy of vendor contact information, fund numbers, budget object code numbers and product part numbers.
  • Inventory and Stocking: Inventory stock of consumable items which may include chemicals, gas cylinders, liquid nitrogen and dry ice; order inventory; stock storeroom shelves.
  • Accounting: Complete online accounting entries, code invoices with budget object codes, fund numbers, etc.
  • Maintain Department Tracking Systems: Input incoming chemicals into department’s chemical tracking system (EHS Assist); Barcode all incoming chemicals; Maintain accuracy of the storeroom’s chemicals in EHS Assist; Assist research lab personnel with keeping their lab’s inventory correct in EHS Assist; Set up new users in EHS Assist and give instruction for use and convey the importance of the system; Maintain the gas cylinder tracking program.
  • Back-Up Storeroom Manager: In the absence of the Storeroom Supervisor (vacation, sick days, conferences, etc.), perform the tasks of the manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
