Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or planning within electrical products or construction materials.
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills with proficiency in ERP systems and planning tools.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
  • Leadership experience with ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).

Responsibilities

  • Aggregate and coordinate requests for purchase inquiries from the sales and project teams.
  • Perform open purchase order follow-up with suppliers to manage delivery expectations.
  • Maintain ERP purchase order expected dates per vendor data, including changes transmitted electronically via VMI, EDI, or email.
  • Manage item substitutes in ERP, prioritizing existing products and sourcing new alternatives to meet availability expectations.
  • Coordinate incoming shipments with receiving department and ensure timely system receipt.
  • Develop and execute demand planning strategies for building wire, steel, and PVC conduit categories to maximize our rebate opportunities.
  • Create purchasing plans aligned with sales forecasts and market trends to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Implement inventory optimization techniques to reduce carrying costs while maintaining service levels.
  • Prepare and present monthly planning reports and KPIs to senior management.
  • Maintain up-to-date vendor records, including performance metrics and compliance documentation.
  • Negotiate with vendors to secure favorable pricing, delivery schedules, and long-term agreements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Participate in Monthly Commodity and Warehouse Meetings, providing updates on vendor supply chain status.
  • Log and track UET lost sales events in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure lost sales are accurately recorded using correct UET codes and detailed comments for procurement review.
  • Collaborate with buyers and category managers to address root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Utilize dashboards and automated reports to monitor lost sales trends and support inventory right-sizing.
  • Liaise with external partners, manufacturers, and service providers to source alternatives when existing partner-stocked items are unavailable.
  • Attend meetings with outside vendors to discuss supply chain performance, product availability, and strategic sourcing opportunities.
