About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement operations in the hurricane protection industry. This role is responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier management, and supervising a procurement team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials, optimize costs, and support operational excellence. As the Purchasing Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping procurement strategy, building strong vendor partnerships, and ensuring seamless supply chain operations that directly impact the company’s success. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 7+ years of procurement/purchasing experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing, vendor negotiation, and supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of hurricane protection materials and the construction/manufacturing industry required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/procurement software (NetSuite or similar).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Occasional travel may be required to vendor sites or project locations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
  • At least three years of experience in related field required.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs.
  • May require travel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead & Develop Team: Manage, mentor, and coach procurement staff, setting goals and KPIs to drive performance.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for hurricane protection materials (storm shutters, impact-resistant systems, structural hardware).
  • Vendor Management: Maintain strong relationships, monitor performance, resolve disputes, and ensure compliance with contracts.
  • Process Optimization: Develop and implement procurement policies, workflows, and cost-control strategies.
  • Budget & Reporting: Track procurement budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide insight to senior leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Operations, Project Management, and Estimating teams to align procurement with project timelines.
  • Compliance & Industry Knowledge: Ensure procurement activities meet industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
