About The Position

We are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to join our leadership team and help support exceptional experiences for our Members through efficient, strategic procurement and vendor partnerships. This role blends hands-on Food & Beverage purchasing (≈60%) with club-wide vendor management and contract negotiation (≈40%), making it an ideal opportunity for an early- to mid-career professional ready to take ownership of purchasing operations in a dynamic hospitality environment. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing centralized ordering, receiving, vendor relationships, and procurement strategy across the Club. This role ensures operational consistency, cost control, and seamless logistics supporting multiple dining outlets and departments. You will partner closely with culinary leadership, accounting, and department heads to create efficient systems that support both daily operations and long-term financial performance.

Requirements

  • Prior kitchen operations experience required

Responsibilities

  • Manage ordering of all food, paper goods, and operational supplies
  • Maintain par levels across outlets and departments
  • Coordinate deliveries and receiving processes
  • Ensure orders align with purchase orders and invoices
  • Partner with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership on product sourcing
  • Sample and evaluate new products and vendors
  • Support inventory control and cost-of-goods management
  • Maintain organized storage and compliance with health standards
  • Liaise with vendors and negotiate contracts and service agreements
  • Assist with annual renewals (insurance, waste services, HVAC, and other vendors)
  • Research and onboard new vendors to ensure competitive pricing and service
  • Coordinate vendor logistics including ferry and barge transportation
  • Maintain strong relationships with marina staff, delivery teams, and suppliers
  • Develop and maintain a centralized ordering system
  • Implement purchasing policies and operational protocols
  • Improve interdepartmental cost transfer and invoicing processes
  • Research and help implement accounting/invoicing software solutions
  • Organize purchasing documentation and invoice tracking
  • Reduce shrinkage, lost deliveries, and inefficiencies
  • Support budgeting initiatives and COGS management
