About The Position

Tucker Door & Trim is a leading wholesale distributor and manufacturer of doors, windows, and specialty millwork products. We serve builders, contractors, and retailers across the Southeast with a commitment to quality products, reliable service, and strong customer relationships. We are looking for a Purchasing Manager who can take ownership of our purchasing operations, forecast inventory needs, and ensure material availability supports production and customer demand.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of purchasing, supply chain, or procurement experience (manufacturing or distribution preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience with inventory forecasting and demand planning.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and plan ahead.
  • Solid understanding of inventory control and purchasing best practices.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency with purchasing or ERP systems.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience purchasing materials for doors, windows, frames, or millwork products.
  • Familiarity with wood species, composite materials, glass, hardware, and moldings.
  • Understanding of door and window manufacturing workflows.
  • Knowledge of industry‑specific lead times, seasonal demand cycles, and quality standards.
  • Existing relationships with door and window industry suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Forecast inventory needs based on sales trends, production schedules, and seasonal demand.
  • Analyze historical purchasing data, usage trends, and vendor lead times to plan future orders.
  • Manage daily purchasing activities for all materials, supplies, and products.
  • Monitor shipment times and proactively adjust ordering to avoid delays or shortages.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels while avoiding stock‑outs and excess inventory.
  • Source new vendors and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Review purchase orders for accuracy and timely fulfillment.
  • Work closely with production, sales, and warehouse teams to anticipate material needs.
  • Track vendor performance, lead times, and cost changes.
  • Resolve issues related to late shipments, shortages, or product quality.
  • Analyze purchasing and inventory data to improve cost control and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of pricing, purchase orders, and vendor agreements.
