Develop and implement purchasing strategies for multiple independent business segments. Oversee the purchase order management process end-to-end. Identify new potential suppliers, complete vetting process when new vednors are added in coordination with sourcing Review, compare, analyze and approve products and services to be purchased Manage inventories and ensure product stocking levels are maintained. Recommending and managing quantities (lot size) to maximize cost management Develop and Implement purchasing policies and processes Ability to expedite orders with vendors to meet production and make substitute recommendations of items within guidelines Negotiate and develop vendor relationships on equipment repair, welding, service parts, and general MRO categories Balance competing priorities while having a sense of urgency to meet business needs Ability to work in both a team-based environment as well as capable of working independently Experience in calculating total cost of ownership of material and services. As the Purchasing Manager will evolve into a people leader role this position is responsible for all purchasing as pertains to the business segments within their scope regardless of reporting lines.
