About The Position

Purchasing Manager What you will do Manages the purchasing team within the business organization. Conceives, develops, tests, integrates and executes the operations, processes, and standardized procedures. University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 6 Years suggested minimum experience. How Directly supervises Buyers and Purchasing agents. Maintain/control vendor relationships. Manage department consistent with company goals and objectives. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Leads improvement projects to achieve key plant objectives and to improve procurement activities to ensure rules and regulations are in compliance. Identifies, tracks and reports department performance status and financial results. Prepares comparison spreadsheets and determines best values. Assists Buyers in controlling/expediting materials, setting priorities, and addressing issues. Evaluates quality, pricing, reliability, technical support and availability of goods and services. Ensures that all department activities are in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley rules and corporate best practices. Analyzes information to identify issues or opportunities and develops plans to address these issues. Responsible for driving safety performance within the plant to achieve the JCI gold safety status (goal: no recordables or lost time injuries). Perform safety observations/inspections as required. Adheres to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Minimal What we look for Required This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and three (3) to five (5) years experience in Purchasing. In the absence of a four (4) year degree in an appropriate field of study, a total of eight (8) years of related experience is required. Normal mechanical and analytical ability is needed as well as good communication skills. SAP experience is preferred. COMPUTER SKILLS Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), as well as Internet software and E-mail is required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises at least three employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. HIRING SALARY RANGE: $89,000-$134,000(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
