The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for subordinate development, supplier relationships and performance, supply agreements and negotiation for goods and services at Safelite®. This position is crucial in ensuring that all major spend categories are strategically aligned with our global strategy and are under contract. The Purchasing Manager will confirm that all supplier relationships are effectively measured, managed, and developed, while also coaching and supporting internal stakeholders during sourcing and purchasing events. Additionally, the role involves developing a system to evaluate vendor quotations that utilizes appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service. The Purchasing Manager will recruit and maintain suppliers that provide high-quality products and services at a better price while adhering to the highest code of ethics and conduct. Responsibilities also include preparing and reviewing contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications, along with other duties assigned by management.

  • Ensure all major spend categories are strategically aligned with our global strategy and are under contract.
  • Confirm all supplier relationships are effectively measured, managed, and developed.
  • Coach and support internal stakeholders during sourcing/purchasing events.
  • Develop a system to evaluate vendor quotations using appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques.
  • Recruit and maintain suppliers that provide high-quality products and services at a better price.
  • Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability.
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 7-9 years of experience required.
  • Previous experience leading teams preferred.
  • Knowledge of Buying and Sourcing, including procurement, demand/supply planning, and relationships management.
  • Strong knowledge of contracts and negotiation techniques.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
