About The Position

To assist the purchasing department in administrative and operational tasks, ensuring
efficient procurement processes and supplier coordination at all Shelbyville sites at
National Pen.

Requirements

• Active student pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and under supervision.
• Availability to work part-time during school hours.

Responsibilities

• Support in placing purchase orders and tracking deliveries.
• Assist in sourcing and evaluating new suppliers to ensure quality and cost- effectiveness.
• Help maintain and update purchasing records using tools like Excel and ERP systems.
• Collaborate in managing inventory levels and restocking schedules.
• Assist in resolving supplier inquiries and discrepancies.
• Support the preparation of procurement reports and analyses.
• Participate in maintaining and organizing purchasing documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and standards.
• Issue purchase orders and ensure timely procurement of required items.
• Compare and analyze supplier quotes to achieve optimal pricing and quality.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure consistent and reliable delivery of goods.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishments to prevent operational downtime.
• Work with the warehouse team to ensure the accuracy of inventory records.
• Expedite orders and resolve delivery or shipment discrepancies.
• Support buyers in identifying cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
