About The Position

The Purchasing Intern supports the Procurement and Supply Chain team by assisting with daily buying activities, data entry and validation, data clean-up initiatives, and special purchasing projects. This position provides hands-on experience in procurement operations, supplier coordination, ERP systems, and cross-functional collaboration within a manufacturing environment. The intern will gain exposure to cost control strategies, supplier performance tracking, ERP data integrity, and continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact operational efficiency and organizational performance.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, or related field.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, sorting, filtering, data entry).

Nice To Haves

Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle) preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist buyers in creating and processing purchase orders (POs) within the ERP system.
Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, order confirmations, and shipment updates.
Monitor open purchase orders and follow up on overdue items to support on-time delivery.
Track and document cost savings initiatives and supplier performance metrics.
Review and correct outdated or duplicate supplier records.
Support inventory data clean-up efforts, including unit-of-measure verification and pricing validation.
Prepare basic reports related to open Pos and spend analysis.
Participate in cross-functional projects such as supplier onboarding, process documentation, and workflow improvements.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by documenting current purchasing processes and recommending efficiencies.
