About The Position

The Purchasing Coordinator at Winchester Carlisle Companies will play a crucial role in supporting the Purchasing Team in the homebuilding sector. This position involves tracking and expediting orders, creating purchase orders for residential construction projects, and assisting in obtaining bids from vendors. The coordinator will also maintain records for new communities and assist with monthly change analysis, ensuring that all internal stakeholders are informed and updated throughout the process. The role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and effective communication skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Requirements

  • Basic working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Proficient in Hyphen BRIX/BuildPro preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) preferred.
  • Extremely well organized, able to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Attention to detail and persistence in follow-up.
  • Excellent communicator (oral and written) including the desire to ask questions and learn from others.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor degree preferred with concentration in Construction Management, Business or other related field.
  • Preferred minimum one year of construction or purchasing experience with a homebuilding company.
  • High level of accurate and timely start budgets and extra purchase orders.
  • Experience in purchasing: Production Home Building required.
  • Clear understanding of the expediting and cost establishment process as it relates to starts.

Responsibilities

  • Track and expedite orders and requests as needed, ensuring all internal stakeholders are informed and updated.
  • Create job start and variance purchase orders for residential construction projects.
  • Assist the Purchasing Agent in obtaining material and labor bids from field teams and vendors.
  • Enter and verify data accuracy, and maintain records for new communities, plan releases, revisions, and specification changes.
  • Assist Purchasing Team with monthly change analysis by keeping track of month-to-month price changes in takeoff revisions, price changes, and labor budget changes.
  • Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Research and resolve problem invoices.
  • Create and maintain weekly and monthly reporting.
  • Support Purchasing Team and Managers with other duties as assigned.
