The Corporate Card Purchasing Clerk role is responsible for ensuring compliance, integrity, and continuous improvement for internal stakeholders to meet the needs of campuses and departments across the organization. This role will support and advance the goals of all entities across IDEA Public Schools compliance and best practices as outlined in state regulations by reviewing and verifying the accuracy of travel and business-related expenses. This is a full-time remote position based in Texas, with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.

  • Review and correct the Standard Accounting Extract (SAE) for accurate Tyler Munis imports and daily financial processing.
  • Ensure corporate card and travel compliance by collaborating daily with the Corporate Card Manager and supporting users in navigating policy and procurement requirements.
  • Review and approve Concur expense reports within 2 business days, ensuring accurate account coding aligned to FASRG and audit standards.
  • Monitor SAE data and payment processing daily to ensure timely, accurate disbursements.
  • Conduct internal control assessments to identify policy inconsistencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide exceptional end-user support by resolving Concur issues promptly and communicating financial guidance clearly and consistently.
  • Support Finance Team capability-building through ongoing coaching, feedback, and participation in weekly tactical meetings to drive continuous improvement.
  • Effectively communicate organizational financial knowledge and budget capacity to individuals with fiduciary responsibilities.
  • Provide continuous improvement support related to operational controls, policy updates, and process changes.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ Clerical experience and accounting, preferably in education
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
  • Proficient in hard skills such as with the use of technology and software.
  • Possess numerate skills; able to understand and work with numbers in an accurate and rapid manner.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Associates degree or higher
  • 3+ years clerical experience and accounting, preferably in education
