About The Position
The Purchasing/Central Supply position at Billings Clinic is a full-time role based in Columbus, Montana, where the individual will be responsible for representing all departments of the facility in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Purchasing Agent will take pride in providing exceptional customer service while managing the procurement of materials, equipment, products, and services necessary for the facility's operations. This role involves placing orders, controlling inventory, and making recommendations for effective inventory management based on historical practices and trends. The Purchasing Agent will rotate through various job functions and perform clerical and administrative tasks to support the department and organization. In this position, the Purchasing Agent will support and model behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic's mission, vision, values, and service expectations. They will create and submit purchase orders, ensure timely order fulfillment, and assist departments with purchase requests. The role also includes reviewing GPO contracts, capital requests, and ensuring compliance with policies. The Purchasing Agent will design and implement product standardization and inventory control strategies to enhance distribution, minimize supply utilization, and reduce inventory obsolescence. Additionally, they will participate in committees to meet value, quality, and cost containment goals, compile statistical reports on purchasing activities, and resolve shipping discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for an Associate Degree, and at least two years of purchasing experience.
