About The Position

Door Systems, ASSA ABLOY, is looking for a (Service) Purchasing Associate in Naperville, IL. This person will be responsible for managing all parts orders for QR and TM for the service department.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of similar experience in purchasing within the commercial overhead door industry
• Effective written and oral communications skills
• Knowledge in the use of computer software, such as spreadsheet applications (i.e., Microsoft Excel) for data analysis is preferred
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, set priorities and analyze situations for appropriate action
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and manage time effectively
• Aptitude for making recommendations based on a company's needs
• Proven project management capabilities, strong analytical skills and the ability to develop sound business strategies
• Proven ability to manage change and resources in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders for special order materials for quoted and incomplete service jobs
• Work with inside and outside sales reps to identify and source items
• Quality check job material lists for accuracy before placing orders
• Value shop for best pricing
• Maintain purchase log, job status, updating material eta, etc.
• Maintain vendor relationships
• Maintain vendor contact log
• Work with field technicians on material questions and immediate material needs
• Work with shop to order fabricated items such as springs, sections, operators, slats, etc.
• Maintain shop fabrication log
• Must be familiarized with warehouse stock materials
• Responsible for all materials to move jobs from opening to schedule ready status in shortest possible time.
