About The Position

The Administrative Assistant for the Purchasing Department will be responsible for placing purchase orders as given by the purchasing department. This will include creating accurate Purchase Orders, pricing products, ensuring accuracy of model numbers, and communicating with stores. This person will also assist the Purchasing Department with answering and transferring phone calls, inventory management and, when needed, various other tasks.

Requirements

  • Strong work ethic
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Strong verbal and communications skills
  • Ability to use software such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Gmail, Google Sheets & Google Docs
  • Possesses strong computer skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and efficiently to use the POS system
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently or in a group

Responsibilities

  • Creating Purchase Orders and submitting them to correct vendor
  • Communicating with stores
  • Assist Locating Product for Stores - idle or special order
  • Updating ETA’s on weekly basis in POS
  • Creating excitement with the stores on new or existing product weekly
  • Answering all calls coming in to the purchasing department and forwarding to appropriate person
  • Filing and Clerical duties to assist Purchasing Department
  • Any other tasks to assist Purchasing Department
