About The Position

Hunton Distribution, a division of Hunton Group in Houston, TX ( www.huntongroup.com ), has a new and exciting opportunity for you to join our organization as a Purchasing Agent. The selected candidate will be responsible for submitting replenishment orders and maintaining appropriate inventory levels for three Hunton Distribution locations. This role requires constant calculations so strong mathematical skills and attention to detail are required. Candidate must be able to communicate with all levels of management including Sales Management, Branch Sales Staff, and Field Sales Team. Requirements

  • Must possess excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows environment including Outlook, Word & Excel.
  • High school diploma.
  • 3 years of experience in purchasing using automated replenishment scenarios.

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring inventory levels and determining purchase needs.
  • Utilize system generated replenishment reports to determine requirements and place purchase orders with vendors.
  • Monitors open order status with vendors and expedites orders as needed.
  • Schedule and verify purchase deliveries.
  • Track flow of factory direct ship orders and emergency repair orders to ensure timely entry and customer invoicing.
  • Works hand-in-hand with branch, product, and sales teams to anticipate needs and proactively improve customer service.
  • Monitor inventory levels and audit receipts at all locations to ensure customer demand is satisfied.
  • Minimal acceptable fill rate for product lines for any location in 96% short term. The standard of performance, over time, is 97.5%.
  • Input data required to set up new products in database.
  • Prepare standards and special reports related to inventory status, fill rates, financial investment, and others as may be required.
  • Grows and maintains product knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Build and maintain positive, long-term supplier relations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
