Hubbard Supplyhouse is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual to join our family-like atmosphere. We are a plumbing and irrigation supply house that also specializes in kitchen, bath, appliances, and lighting. The Purchasing Agent supports company success by helping maintain optimal inventory levels, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring timely procurement of quality products at competitive prices. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners. Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum 1–2 years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or a related role
  • Product/application knowledge in plumbing, construction, or related industries (preferred but not required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical abilities
  • Ability to manage time, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 2+ years in a similar purchasing or procurement role
  • Experience in wholesale distribution
  • Strong communication and vendor relationship-building skills
  • Ability to interpret data, reports, or basic purchasing metrics

Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve defective material claims, including RGA processing, vendor follow-up, and credit recovery.
  • Assist with purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment based on inventory needs and sales trends
  • Review requisitions and forecasts to determine procurement requirements
  • Monitor vendor pricing, lead times, and performance to ensure competitive and reliable supply
  • Track purchase orders, shipments, and deliveries to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain vendor records, documentation, and product information within the ERP system
  • Support the negotiation of vendor terms, pricing, and delivery schedules
  • Collaborate with Sales, Warehouse, and Operations to ensure communication and alignment on inventory needs
  • Identify and escalate supply issues, discrepancies, or product availability concerns
  • Assist with maintaining appropriate inventory levels and reordering thresholds
  • Follow all company purchasing and inventory control procedures
