About The Position

Valley View Hospital is seeking a qualified individual to work as a Purchasing Agent in our Supply Chain department. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position. Great schedule- Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm! GENERAL OBJECTIVES Responsible for the procurement and position of supplies and equipment as required to maintain the highest possible degree of support to patient and employee needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be well organized, self-motivated, and have stable working habits.
  • Must be able to deal with other people through the use of good oral and written communications.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of health care experience in the procurement of materials and equipment, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Places stock and non-stock supply orders for the hospital and its clinics using the Department MMIS. Expedites backorders and handles supply returns.
  • Processes supply requisitions in a timely manner and checks for accuracy.
  • Works with customers and suppliers to answer questions, resolve supply problems, and resolve pricing discrepancies.
  • Audits supplier pricing to assure it matches pricing agreements and contracts.
  • Researches suppliers to obtain lower prices, substitutes and alternate items.
  • Works with Purchasing Coordinator and Materials Managers to analyze and adjust supply item stock levels as needed.
  • Participates in physical inventories and supply cycle counting as required.
  • Keys patient supply charges and other documents into the MMIS when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Required to work multiple Saturdays in November/December for annual physical inventory
