About The Position

The Purchasing Agent position within the State of Idaho Military Division is responsible for procuring a variety of goods and services to support the Idaho Military Division and its subordinate units. This role involves preparing and negotiating contracts, conducting cost analyses, and ensuring compliance with state purchasing regulations. The Purchasing Agent will also serve as a secondary point of contact for various programs and will be involved in the organization and execution of purchasing programs.

Requirements

• Must be an enlisted member of the Idaho National Guard.
• Must have and maintain a valid and unrestricted state issued driver's license.
• Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a favorable T3 (SECRET) Federal Background Investigation.
• 24-months of functional procurement/contracting experience or relevant college coursework.
• Willingness to complete 28-hours of instructor-led procurement/contracting training within 12 months of hire.

• Ability to conduct cost analysis for competitive pricing.

Responsibilities

• Purchase a variety of goods and services for the Idaho Military Division and its associated programs.
• Input data into contracting systems to maintain purchasing and vendor information.
• Screen procurement requests to determine the appropriate purchasing action required.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation, Invitations for Bid, and contract award documentation.
• Evaluate contractor performance and compliance with contract provisions.
• Maintain contract files and distribute copies to relevant personnel.
• Promote a respectful workplace and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
