About The Position
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for negotiating supplier contracts, consolidating suppliers, researching new suppliers, and implementing Kanban and JIT programs. The role involves working closely with Engineering to improve quality and reduce overall business costs. The Purchasing Agent will purchase commodities, keeping suppliers informed of specific needs on behalf of the Company, and will collaborate with Production Control and Assembly personnel to ensure timely delivery of materials. The position also requires resolving conflicts as needed and assisting other purchasing agents and receiving department personnel to assure timely delivery of materials while following appropriate policies and procedures.
