About the position
The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for procuring materials and components necessary to support production needs. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who can manage purchasing processes effectively while collaborating with various internal departments and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Create RFQ and purchase orders in accordance with engineering bills of material.
- Evaluate suppliers offers on quality, price, and delivery capabilities.
- Manage materials management processes to ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained.
- Utilize our ERP systems.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand purchasing requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.
- Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Requirements
- Proven experience in purchasing or supply chain management is preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Strong data entry skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
- Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in industrial purchasing.
- Experience working in machine shop or panel fabrication shop.
- Ability to read 2D part detail drawings.
