About The Position

Are you the kind of person who hates waste, likes numbers to line up, and takes pride in keeping jobs on track? Classic Rock Fabrication is looking for a Purchasing Agent – Slabs to join our team at our Harrisburg headquarters. This role is perfect for someone with experience in construction, manufacturing, stone, cabinetry, or building materials who wants a stable, office-based purchasing role that still stays closely connected to the shop floor. What This Job Is Really About You will be responsible for making sure the stone materials needed for our countertop jobs are: Ordered correctly Available when production needs them Used efficiently to avoid waste and reorders In simple terms, you help keep production moving and costs under control by ordering the right materials, every day. You will work closely with our production, programming, and finance teams, but this is not a management role. You won’t supervise people or set company strategy. You’ll be trusted to execute within established systems and make smart, accurate purchasing decisions.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of purchasing experience in manufacturing or construction trades
  • Comfortable working with numbers, measurements, and pricing
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Able to work collaboratively with office and production teams
  • Reliable, organized, and accountable

Nice To Haves

  • Stone or countertop experience is helpful, but not required. We care more about your mindset and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Order stone slabs and materials daily so fabrication stays on schedule
  • Review job details after measurements are completed to confirm the correct materials are ordered
  • Track slab inventory and help make sure existing material is used before new material is purchased
  • Look for ways to reduce waste by using materials efficiently
  • Work with approved vendors on pricing, availability, and delivery timing
  • Check invoices to make sure pricing and quantities are correct
  • Coordinate material transfers between our facilities when needed
  • Participate in short daily production meetings to stay aligned with shop needs
  • Step in to help cover purchasing duties when teammates are out
